Squad Captain
The One-Pager · From recruitment to follow-up
Coachable · Narrow Is The Track
You and your 2i/c own a squad of 25 men. You report to your location coach, who reports to the Event Manager. As our numbers scale, our strategy must evolve — squads ensure the event expands without losing the man.
01
Recruit
Now → September
- Build your squad to 25. Personal invites — work the relationships, don't broadcast and hope.
- Name your squad. Build hype, get your men involved in it.
- Kickoff Sunday: retro athletic gear, whistle on, sign men up on the spot — $99 admission, $30 camping package.
- Know your number. Track signups; report at the Tuesday 7:00 AM team update.
02
Build
August → September
- Be at the Coach & Leaders Gathering. Non-negotiable.
- Commit to at least one build day on site before the event.
- Thursday Sept 17: Mens Team Setup runs 9 AM – 5 PM — big top, tents, rite of passage, tribal games, parking.
- Be the answer man. Your guys' direct source of truth — make sure every one of them makes it out.
03
Run
Sept 18–19
- Own the gate. Be at the front when your men arrive (Fri 4–6 PM). Coffee, clipboard, strong first connection. Runners escort them in — you stay at the gate.
- Squads from the first moment. Parking, tents, games, meals — everything in squads. No man left alone.
- Your 2i/c executes; you stay present. Delegate the task, keep the relationship.
- Eat last. Every man has a plate before you do — then sit in the middle of them. Meals are connection, not admin. No leader huddles.
04
Pack Down
Sat 12:30 PM
- 30 minutes, all hands. Rally your squad to your assigned zone.
- Account for every job and every man before lunch at 1 PM.
05
Follow Up
The week after
- Text every man within the week.
- Land each one in a Connect Group. That's the win the whole event points to.
- Report follow-up status to your coach.
What Success Looks Like
Every man on your list — known, present, and followed up.
